Privacy Policy

When you create an account, Beast Recipes stores account information such as your email address, display name, account status, and security information needed to authenticate you. Passwords are stored using ASP.NET Core Identity's one-way password hashing and are not stored as readable passwords.

The service also stores information you choose to create or save, including recipes, recipe photos, ingredient data, meal plans, shopping lists, pantry items, collections, ratings, reviews, personal notes, nutrition goals, sharing settings, notification preferences, and registered notification devices.

We use account and recipe data to operate Beast Recipes, provide the features you request, keep shared content connected to the correct members, send account and notification messages you have enabled, maintain site security, troubleshoot problems, and improve service reliability.

Public recipes, public profiles, ratings, and reviews are visible to other visitors when you choose features that publish them. Private recipes and account-only planning data are not intentionally exposed as public content.

Beast Recipes uses third-party infrastructure and APIs where needed to provide storage, email delivery, push notifications, ingredient and nutrition information, and generated ingredient artwork. Data is shared with those providers only as needed for the requested feature or to operate the service.

Beast Recipes does not sell your personal information and does not use your private recipe-planning data to sell targeted advertising.

We use access controls, authenticated account sessions, encrypted HTTPS connections, restricted private media storage, and server-side authorization checks to protect account data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so access is limited to what the service needs to function.

Active account data is retained while your account remains in use. Security logs and infrastructure backups may be retained temporarily for operational, fraud-prevention, recovery, or legal purposes and are removed according to the retention practices of the systems that hold them.

Signed-in members can manage their profile, content, sharing options, and notification preferences from their account. You can permanently delete your account from the Profile page by opening Delete Account, entering your current password, and confirming the deletion.

Account deletion removes the account and associated user data from the active application database. Where historical moderation metadata must remain usable, the user identifier is removed instead. Temporary backups and logs can remain until their normal retention period ends.

This policy may be updated as Beast Recipes adds or changes features. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
